Staff tuition fee remission

A 100% fee remission (UCT tuition costs covered in full) for staff in PC7 to PC12 (for their own study)

The 25% staff tuition portion still requires approval from Council as well as budget that wasn’t committed for this year.  A proposal is being gathered by HR to take to Council that will look at the 2019 cost, in addition to various alternative funding recommendations that can also be taken to Council.

The recommendation is that staff pay the balance not to incur any interest. Should there be a positive outcome from Council for 2019 staff can access the positive balance from the fees. 

A general communication to all staff impacted by the 2019 agreement will be going out shortly from HR advising this approach.
